HopperGraphs

Graphs that say how far to trust them.

HopperGraphs is the family of graphs Hopper Labs builds — tax law, tax forms, churches, schools, jobs and skills. Every record keeps where it came from, and every graph says whether a person has checked it.

The term “dependent” is defined in 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(9), which cites 26 U.S.C. § 152(f)(1); Pub. L. 111–152 inserted the definition in 2010.defined incitesinsertedTERM“dependent”PROVISION§ 501(c)(9)PROVISION§ 152(f)(1)PUBLIC LAW · 2010111–152

The graphs

Nothing here is a public service yet. Six graphs are candidates on our own computers, and eight more are planned.

  1. LawGraph

US federal tax law — 26 USC and 26 CFR — with every dated version of a provision, what amended it and when, what it cites, and the terms it defines.

    in-force provisions
    9,448
    dated versions
    37,977
    dated amendment events
    26,002
    citation edges
    54,864
    defined terms
    ~30,000

As the graph's own repository states them.

Candidate Run on our own computers. Its defined terms are machine-extracted: checked word for word against the source, not yet read by a person. It gives no legal advice.

  2. Forms graph

Every federal AcroForm tax form we hold for tax years 2024 and 2025: each form, edition, schedule, line and box, its field inventory, and its links to the law it rests on.

Candidate Local only. Not published and not admitted. It claims no computed values and no legal currency.

  3. FaithGraph

    faithgraph.io

A directory of churches that says, for each one, when it meets, how to get there, and where each fact came from and when it was last checked.

Candidate Local only. A service time counts only once it is reviewed against its source, and none are yet. The church records are not public: whether they may be published is still undecided.

  4. EducationGraph

US public schools, school districts and colleges from the federal CCD 2024–25 and IPEDS HD2024 datasets.

    public schools
    100,237
    local education agencies
    19,400
    postsecondary institutions
    5,994

Loaded locally from the federal datasets named above.

Candidate Validated and loaded on our own computers; not a deployed service. The federal datasets do not claim to be complete for private or religious schools.

  5. JobsGraph

    jobsgraph.io

Job postings, careers feeds and employers over time, each with where it came from.

Candidate Runs only as a local instance and is not admitted. What it holds is reviewed historical evidence, not a live feed of open jobs.

  6. SkillsGraph

How work gets done: it finds the procedure for a task, puts its prerequisites in order, and says what evidence is still missing for a particular business.

Candidate Validated locally. Its vocabulary is human-reviewed; the product is not published. Its first real procedures are a CFO's.

  7. In the plan

TaxGraph, and shared graphs of APIs, datasets, documentation, GitHub, businesses, research and finance.

Planned Named in the HopperGraphs plan, with nothing built to show yet.
